I loved it. The colors were so warm and soothing and the art was simple enough for me (A business professional) to appreciate it. I love how the African aesthetic wove its way through the entire collection. It showed the complexity of the African culture and the strength of the African/African-American people. I took the red rose to mean Love. The animal had to reach high to find the Love, but once he found it, he shared the Love. The love surpassed the highs and the lows. A flower is such a delicate object, but throughout the collection the flower was not damaged because...Love is simply Stronger than Pride. Hats off to you my friend.

I'm so sorry my comment is coming to you so late, but I wanted to give your collection the time and thought it deserved. It is so meditative and beautiful and moving. you speak volumes about every emotion with such simple imagery. My favorites are the gorilla and the hippos. I loved the shadow effect that was in the gorilla image (you also used it in some others). All the images just have such presence. The palette was beautiful, minimilist, but modern at the same time with the red from the single rose. The red rose also speaks volumes about the power and effects of a single gesture. I have so much to say about this collection, but this comment is getting lengthy. My comment feels like i'm writing the copy for your website (under description lol). i'm sure you already have someone to do that for you, but if you ever need a copy writer I'd love to help out (i do have a master's in english and writing about art would be a dream job fr me.) so let me know!
Thank you so much for moving and inspiring me. I can't wait to see what is next and to own my own Watkins!! Oh and the part of the video where we saw you working a bit, towards the end, was one of my favorite parts of the movie. I'd love to see a video of your process sometime, like a day in the life of type thing. Beautiful job Kurtis!
